Vibe for code is Mistral AI’s coding agent, launched at the AI Now Summit in Paris on 28 May 2026 as the successor to Mistral Code. It takes a request through to a merged change across the Vibe web app, a VS Code extension, and the terminal, with codebase-aware planning on top of Mistral’s frontier models including Codestral and Devstral. Part of the Vibe family alongside Mistral’s general-purpose assistant; Mistral is Paris-based with European-hosted inference and on-prem deployment for enterprise.
