Veriff is the identity-verification product of Tallinn-based Veriff, used by global fintechs, marketplaces, and mobility platforms to verify government documents from ~230 countries, run biometric face matching, and run business-identity (KYB) checks via the post-Vespia stack. Hosted in the EU with optional regional residency; SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR coverage built in.
About Veriff
Veriff is an identity-verification company founded in Tallinn in 2015 by Kaarel Kotkas, still its CEO, and Janer Gorohhov. In February 2026 it acquired Vespia to add business-identity verification (KYB) to its document and biometric checks.
The operating company is Veriff OÜ in Tallinn, which its privacy notice names as controller, but the top of the group is American. Estonia’s e-Business Register lists VERIFF INC, a US company, as Veriff OÜ‘s sole shareholder, with Kotkas recorded as beneficial owner through it. Veriff Inc. is incorporated in Delaware, filed a Form D with the US Securities and Exchange Commission in 2018 for a round signed by Kotkas, and reports no parent above it in the global LEI register.
