Every domain includes free anycast LiveDNS with DNSSEC, zone templates and automatic backups, unlimited email aliases and forwarding, web forwarding, a TLS certificate free for the first year, and an owner change at no charge. Gandi runs an information security management system certified by BSI against ISO 27001 and ISO 22301.

Pricing is published in full per extension and per period, excluding VAT. A .com registers at EUR 11.00 and renews at EUR 31.98, or EUR 28.78 on a two-to-nine-year term; .fr registers at EUR 6.00 and renews at EUR 23.98; .eu lists at EUR 13.29 and renews at EUR 30.00; .dev registers at EUR 14.01 and renews at EUR 31.98. Restoring a .com after the 45-day late-renewal window costs EUR 50.00. Volume grids B through E cut every rate at EUR 500, 1,500, 5,000, and 10,000 of purchases per calendar year.

Namecheap renews a .com for around USD 14, so a single domain at Gandi costs roughly double to keep. What the difference buys is a registrar incorporated in France rather than Arizona, a rate card published for every extension instead of a first-year promotion, and DNS, mail, SSL, and hosting from the same vendor the domain points at — including the managed hosting behind PrestaShop’s own Hosted offer. Portfolios large enough to reach the volume grids close most of the price gap; one hobby domain does not.

Gandi has sold domain names since 1999 and is accredited by VeriSign as a registrar, with a catalogue of more than 750 extensions alongside DNS, email, TLS certificates, web hosting and cloud servers. The French entity is GANDI, SIREN 423093459, a SAS at 63-65 boulevard Masséna in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, created 1 July 1999, in the 50-99 employee band as of 2024, audited by Deloitte & Associés. Its information security management system is certified by BSI against ISO 27001 and ISO 22301.

Ownership is Dutch and the chain is visible in the French register. GANDI’s président is not a person but the legal entity GANDI.NET (SIREN 847727914); that company’s président is YOUR.ONLINE FRANCE FINACQ (SIREN 904913936); and above it sits Your.Online Presence Management B.V. in the Netherlands. The structure dates from February 2023, when Total Webhosting Solutions acquired Gandi from the French private-equity firm Montefiore Investment and merged its brands with Gandi’s under the Your.Online name. The group is backed by Strikwerda Investments, a Dutch family office. A Dutch strategic group over a French operating company keeps the chain European throughout.

Gandi publishes a full rate card per extension and per period rather than a first-year promotion, which is also why its renewal prices read high against American discount registrars. The 2023 price rises that followed the acquisition were the proximate cause of a good deal of customer anger, and are the thing to weigh against what the French jurisdiction and the bundled DNS, mail and certificates are worth.
